Meet: The Closet Consultant

Recently, I was invited to a private styling event at WildJay, voted as ‘Yakima’s Best New Business for 2018’ & ‘Best New Women’s Clothing Boutique for 2018’ by The Yakima Herald.

I have known Jadira Amaya, the shop owner and fellow Latina and female entrepreneur, for about two years now.

I know that anything that she puts on is going to be passionate, innovative, and will have that innate influence of bringing people of different walks of life together. The girl is doing it right and Yakima is lucky to have her.

Jadira partnered with local emerging wardrobe stylist, Michelle a.k.a ‘The Closet Consultant’ on Instagram. Michelle Alegria’s “…main goal is to help women of all ages and body types feel confident and beautiful.” And she stands by her work’s guarantee! We love some body positivity and inclusivity in this community – a key reason I’m supporting them both.

Prior to the presentation and one-on-one styling, Jadira treated us with fruit & light bites paired with some bubbly and Moscato. Please and thank YOU.

Michelle started out her presentation with an overview of the seasonal trends and closet staples (i.e., trench coat, black & white layering essentials, etc.). I really love that she brought her own rack of those same staples from her own closet to show everybody.

Each guest was asked to bring up to 5 items items from their closets that could use some of Michelle’s help. Mine included:

  1. a luxe white bomber jacket
  2. a pair of white jeans, and
  3. a black and red wool cape

No guest that evening was alike and with Michelle’s styling & our lovely host, everyone walked away having learned new tricks (check out Michelle’s post on how she created 55 outfits from 13 pieces of clothing! It’s unreal), tips, and something of value to apply to our individual lifestyles in our own fierce way.

Check out Michelle’s website for her personal shopping and closet make-over services and shop Yakima’s newest gem, WILDJAY.
